"Heal, Grow and Move Forward with Grace..."

Hi ,

Heal, Grow, and Move Forward with Grace...

These are the words I heard while having a wonderful treatment yesterday.

For weeks I've been aware of stome stuck energy between my shoulder blades at the back, almost as if someone was standing on me. And I've also been processing feelings around moving out of my clinic - that was almost a year ago now.... I guess I'm ready now to do this!

This morning I opened a post from Katie, Women in Focus. I love her posts. Though I haven't connected all of the dots yet - I just know there is something in it and I need to share her words with you, so here they are:

Hard Choices

By Katie Mihell   '   Published May 29, 2014 3:02:30 PM

In her soon to be published memoirs, Hilary Clinton writes about the hard choices we all face in our lives - with every decision to go one way, there is a compromise on the path not chosen; there is impact on another life. We all have to balance the demands and desires across family, friends, work and our community, we all remember the moment of making that choice of where to study, which degree to do, where to chase that first dream job, where to live.... And if you could go back now, with all of life's lessons, would you choose the same? Probably, because nobody likes to admit regret, we learn to move on with it. But the frame we use to make choices as we get older becomes more informed, and our boundaries of compromise more rigid as personal values take a stronger hold, and the impact of our choices on others and ourselves more understood.

Our choices and how we make them define the person we become, and they define not just the journey of our life, but the opportunities we present to others. The best choices are those made with both the heart and the head. The head decides the rationally best outcome; it compensates for imperfect information and seeks to avoid failure. But it is the heart that balances this against meaning, that protects your values and makes you ask yourself: do you want a life well lived and with purpose, or a life just lived to rational norms? Can you live with the choice you make?

There are hard choices going on every day, in every life, in every work place - make the one that matters, and include the people that matter, no matter how vulnerable it makes you feel! There is far more strength in vulnerability than there is conformity.

Have a great weekend,

Katie
