Hi -
Family...
Last month brought an unscheduled visit to the US - to spend time with my brothers and family.
My brother Steve, in the middle, hasn't been feeling the best so I felt drawn to visit having been too long between Hugs and a chance to visit...
So very glad I did when I had the nudge, especially given how things are in the world right now!!
It was an awesome trip!
Families - WOW! Such a mixed bag of Laughter, Love, Joy, Noise, Surrender, Overwhelm, and more Joy. And...how we all respond differently to this!
Graciously, our son Nick joined me on this journey. We had a whirlwind of a visit.. 5 days in Salt Lake City and 5 days in Seattle. Having Nick as a travelling companion made this visit sprinkled with laughter, lightness and fun.
I loved every minute of this trip, despite developing a cough and chest infection about half way through.
I deeply I care about my family, and sometimes feel conflicted sharing time with them.
My longing to see them more often rises in me, as does how much I miss them being so far away.
I also get stirred by what has been, and what is present right now in me and them and in terms of all family is for me... it all feels a bit raw...
Yes, I'd do it all again in a flash!
Because that is Family...
Perfect no...
We, perhaps like you are a beautiful bunch of crazy, unique, messy, loving, loud individuals who come together and share what they can and be there for one another.
I am so grateful for this experience. I am grateful for Nick doing this for and with me...and for my brother Jeff meeting us in Salt Lake to share the time there, and for all he is and does when we are together. And grateful for the rest of my family dropping everything to come together.
Now I am also happy to be home with a little more personal space and back in the arms of my beloved Andy - and our boys here.
Back doing the work I love, being graced with You, sharing your presence with me - sharing a part of your journey with me.
My Message in all of this is this:
As quirky as our families are, and the individuals coming together...I am pretty sure we are all doing what we can. Mel Robbins, in an Audible program called Kick Ass I listened to last month, shared a phrase that stays with me:
"Assume Good Intent." .....What a game changer this can be!
Let's continue to see what's possible in the world - seeing if we can assume a little more Good Intent...whether it is in the context of Family.. or anything else we choose.
I am here.
With love,
Pam
PS. I am having a price rise in April. If you book in this month (for Now or April) the price will remain as it is now.
